Quick answer: An influencer rate card lists what you charge to post on your own account, one item per line: an Instagram Reel, a set of Stories, a YouTube integration. Price each item from your own reach and results, not from a table of strangers' rates, and keep ad use, reuse by the brand and exclusivity as separate lines. The ₹6,000 Reel, ₹2,500 Story set and ₹12,000 YouTube integration in the calculator are examples only, not benchmarks, and this page does not publish “average” rates.
UGC and influencer posts: what is the difference?
| UGC | Influencer post | |
|---|---|---|
| Where it is posted | On the brand's channels, or run as the brand's ad | On your own account, to your own audience |
| What the brand pays for | The content and the right to use it | The post, plus your audience's attention and trust in your voice |
| What drives your price | Quality, effort and the rights granted | Your reach and results, the effort, and the rights granted |
| Common extra lines | Paid usage, whitelisting, exclusivity, raw footage | Ad use of your post, partnership ads, reuse, exclusivity |
If the brand posts the video and your audience never sees it, you are pricing UGC, and the UGC rate card India page is the better starting point. If the post goes on your account, read on.
Price a post from your own reach and results
- Open your own analytics for recent posts in the same format. Look at how many people each Reel reached, how many watched most of it, and how many saved, shared or replied. Use your typical posts, not your best one.
- Review past brand posts. Note the reach, link clicks, messages from people asking where to buy, and anything the brand told you about results.
- Count the work. Planning, filming, editing, posting, answering comments, and any report the brand asks for all take time.
- Choose a price per item and check that you would be happy to repeat the work at that price. Do not raise every price because of one post that took off, and do not copy a number from a chart.
- Write it down and review it as your results change.
Follower count alone does not tell a brand what a post will do, which is why your own results make a stronger case than a number on your profile.
List each item as a separate line
Reels, Stories and YouTube integrations take different amounts of work and reach people in different ways, so give each its own line and its own price. In the calculator, add a deliverable, choose “Custom item”, type the name and type the price. The three lines above are set up this way.
| Item | Spell out so nothing is a surprise |
|---|---|
| Instagram Reel (posted on my account) | Length, number of posts, tags and links, posting date, how long it stays up, who approves the caption |
| Instagram Story (3 frames) | Number of frames, link sticker, posting date, whether it is saved to a Highlight |
| YouTube integration (60–90 s) | Where it sits in the video, length, link in the description, how long the video stays published |
Charge extra when the brand wants more than a post
- Ad use. If the brand runs your post as an ad from its own account, that is paid usage. Price it as a percentage of the content fee for a set period. CollabRate starts at +25% for 30 days and +50% for 90 days, and you can change both. See usage rights.
- Partnership ads. If ads run through your handle, that is whitelisting, charged for each month. See whitelisting rates.
- Reuse. If the brand wants to repost your content on its own page, website or newsletter, add a custom line with a typed price and say where and for how long.
- Exclusivity. If you must turn down competing brands for a period, charge for each month. See the exclusivity fee page.
- Extra changes. Include one round and price additional rounds.
These percentages are CollabRate's own negotiating starting points for every country, not Indian market data, and every one is editable.
Bundles
A bundle sells several items together at a small discount, for example a Reel with a Story set. Use the package discount field in the calculator. The discount comes off the content fee before add-ons are calculated, so it also lowers any percentage-based add-on. Keep it modest. Here is the example Reel and Story pair with a 10% bundle discount and 30 days of ad use. All amounts are placeholders:
| Line | Amount |
|---|---|
| 1 × Instagram Reel (posted on my account) at ₹6,000 | ₹6,000 |
| 1 × Instagram Story (3 frames) at ₹2,500 | ₹2,500 |
| Package discount (10%) | −₹850 |
| Content fee | ₹7,650 |
| Paid usage: 30 days (25% of content fee) | ₹1,913 |
| Total | ₹9,563 |
How to present your rate card to brands in India
- Send the PDF by email and use the PNG in your media kit or as a link from your profile. The PNG is 1080 × 1350 pixels.
- Add your name, handle, niche and contact details, and put a date in the file name so brands know it is current.
- Choose how much to show. Prices, “from” prices or “rates on request” are all fine. If briefs vary a lot, “from” prices or “on request” keeps you flexible.
- State the currency and tax treatment. The card adds “Prices in INR”. If you are registered for GST, say in your quote notes whether your prices are before or after GST.
- Treat the card as a starting point. For each real brief, send a quote PDF on A4 that lists the exact deliverables, posting dates, ad-use window and payment terms.
- Replace the example notice. The card footer starts as a reminder that the rates are examples. Change it before you send anything.
Amounts print with the ₹ symbol on both the card and the quote, because the files embed a font that includes it. Everything is created in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
GST, invoices and tax
This is general information, not tax advice. CollabRate's rate card and quote show your fee and do not calculate tax. If you are registered for GST, GST is added to the invoice you raise for your services; the GST invoice generator can help. If you are not registered, you invoice without GST; see the invoice format without GST. If a foreign brand pays you in a foreign currency, read about an export invoice without IGST under LUT. For income tax or TDS questions, ask a chartered accountant.

FAQ
How much should I charge for an Instagram Reel in India?
There is no honest single answer, and this page does not publish average or benchmark rates. Your price should come from your own reach and results, your niche, the effort involved, the rights the brand wants and the brand itself. The ₹6,000 in the calculator is an example. Start from the results of your recent Reels and your past brand deals.
What is the difference between a UGC rate card and an influencer rate card?
A UGC rate card prices content the brand posts or runs as its own ads. An influencer rate card prices posts that go on your own account, so your reach and results matter, and ad use of your post is a separate line.
Should I charge extra if a brand runs my Reel as an ad?
Yes. Running your post as an ad is paid usage, and ads that appear under your handle are whitelisting. Both are worth more to the brand than the post alone, so list them as separate lines with a time period.
Should I show prices on my influencer rate card?
That is your choice. Show prices if your offer is simple, show “from” prices if each brief is different, or choose “rates on request” and quote each brief. The calculator supports all three.
Is this influencer rate card for India free?
Yes. It is free with no signup, and nothing you type is uploaded. Exported cards and quotes carry a small “Made with CollabRate” credit.
